Biography

BIOGRAFIA

He was born near Barcelona and begins to be brought up musically at the Higer Conservatoire of the same city. He studies choir conducting with Enric Ribó and orchestral conducting with Antoni Ros Marba in Barcelona, with Michel Corboz in France, with Pierre Cao in France, with Lazlo Heltay in Belgium. In adition he has study with Rosalyn Tureck, Monique Dechaussées and Tierry Fischer and so others.

Josep Ferré has appeared as opera conductor with "Orquestra Simfònica del Vallés" and "Amics de l'òpera de Sabadell". He had a great succes with "Orfeo and Euridice" de Gluck, "Carmen" de G. Bizet, "Don Pasquale" de Donizetti, "Cavalleria rusticana" by Mascagni, "Ballo in maschera" by G. Verdi and some more.

He has conducted the most importants pieces of musical history as: "Requiem" by W. A. Mozart, "German Requiem" by J. Brahms, Opera overtures and arias, The Nutcracker Ballet by Txaikowsky, Simfònic Jazz, Concerts for piano and orchestra by Beethoven, Grieg, Franz List, Rachmaninoff, Mozart, Saint Saens, Tchaikowsky, Pictures From an Exhibition de Mussorgsky-Ravel, Symphonic dances from West Side Story by L. Bernstein, "Le Villi" Opera by Puccini, el "Der Wunderbare Mandarin" by Béka Bartók, Petrushka by Igor F. Stravinsky, Romeo and Juliet by Sergeiu Prokofieff, “Le Lac des Cignes de  Peter Iljitsch Tchaikowsky” with “Angel Corella Ballet”, “El Pessebre” by Pau Casals …

In adition, Josep Ferré has recorded diferents CD and DVD as: Large Messe in C minor by Mozart, Bolero by Ravel, Rapsody in blue by Georges Gershwin , The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Paul Dukas, The Planets by Gustav Holst etc.

Likeeewise he conducted the premieres of "La Fada" opera by E. Morera, "Romança sota la lluna", zarzuela by E. Melo, "Quasi una polka" by Rodríguez Picó, "Rapsodia Sant Cugat" by Garcia Acin, "Concert per cobla i orquestra" by A. Cohí Grau, Concerto for violin and orchestra by S. Brotons. “Suite Concertant per Flauta, Fagot, Celesta i Orquestra de Corda” by J. Carbonell, Mil•lenarium de J.A. Amargós …

Therefore Josep Ferré has been the choir’s conductor in Liceo Opera House. He also has conducted the “Orquestra provincial de Malaga”, “Orquestra de Cambra de Lliçà d’Amunt”, "Orquestra Simfònica del Vallés”, Clark Collage Orchestra de Vancouver (WA) Royal Durst Theatre Vancouver (USA), "Orchestra Sinfonica Città di Grosseto”, Orchestra OSUANL in Monterrey (México) and others.

Actually Josep Ferré is the main conductor of "Orquestra Simfònica Sant Cugat", and "Jove Orquestra Simfònica del Baix Llobregat", and also works with young people in the "Young Simphonic Orchestra of Catalonia".
